10:00-17:00 The skiing areas open for action.


16:00 Opening of Rut Ingólfsdóttir‘s ceramic show „Gúbbar“. In Rögnvaldarsalur, Edinborgarhús.
The show will be open from 14-18 each day till the 5th of April.


16:30 The opening ceremony of the Skiing Festival at Silfurtorg (town centre). The brass band of Ísafjörður Music School, along with members of the Ísafjörður Ski Association, will march from the church at 4.00 pm to Silfurtorg where the opening ceremony will be held. The Ísafjörður Ski Association will sell hot chocolate and pancakes.


16:00-18:00 Ragnar Kjartansson’s Art Exhibition held in Bryggjusalur in Edinborgarhús.


17:00 Núpur’s (cross-country skiing) sprint in Hafnarstræti (downtown Ísafjörður).


21:00 Theatre Easter in Ísafjörður, Heilsugæslan (Healthcare). Shown in Arnardalur, For tickets call 8606062.


21:00 Film show in Edinborgarhús, The Westfjords-film will be shown. The film is a co-operative project between The Edinborg Cultural House and Kvikmyndasafn Íslands (The Icelandic Film Museum)

Thursday 1st of April

11:00 Confirmation mass at Hólskirkja in Bolungarvík.


12:00-14:00 KFÍ and Nói Síríus hold 2 on 2 Easter egg match at the sports hall in Torfnes.


13:00 Biathlon at Dagverðardal. There will be some training offered and teaching on how to handle firearms at 11.00 am the same day.


14:00 Confirmation Mass in Ísafjarðarkirkja (the church of Ísafjörður).


14:00-18:00 Simbahöllin in Þingeyri open. Belgian waffles, cakes, coffee, hot chocolate and more. Easter crafts for children.


14:00-18:00 Heitt á prjónunum. Belgian waffles, hot chocolate and other goodies will be available.


15:00 Boarder Cross match for children in Tungudalur.


17:00 The play Eikin ættar minnar will be shown at the Félagsheimili in Þingeyri.


18:00 Bæjarbrekkubrun (Town-slope-downhill), everybody encouraged to bring their sleds and participate. Ísfirðingafélagið will offer hot chocolate at Sóltún.


19:00 Við Pollinn. Food and music where Helgi Björnsson and kokteilpinni will keep up the fun. The Cheese desert will of course be available. For reservations call 456 3360.


19:00 Jazz in the Valley. Muurikka-fest and Jazz in the Fjós (Cowshed) in Arnardalur. The chieftains Villi Valli, Óli Kristjáns, and Magnús Reynir will play with their known virtuosity. Muurikka-fest will be offered in the cowshed by the guest-chef Sigþór Sigurðsson, new menu, lobster soup as a starter, and coffee and assorted chocolates. Sophus Magnússon will offer bus trips from Hamraborg at 19.00 and back to town around midnight.

Friday 2nd of April


10:00-17:00 The skiing areas open for action.


10:00-16:00 Music far and wide, conference in Bryggjusalur, Edinborgarhús.


10:00 The annual cross country skiing trip with Sjóferðir Hafsteins og Kiddýjar.
The trip starts with sailing from Ísafjörður to Aðalvík, where the skiing starts and it ends in Hesteyri, from where the boat picks the group up and brings it back to Ísafjörður. The guide will be Jón Björnsson, the head of Hornstrandastofa. Further information and reservations in tel. 456 3879 or 892 4879.

10:00 Church walk from the church in Flateyri to the church in Holt. After the mass in the church in Holt, seafood soup and freshly baked bread will be offered in the Peace-centre in Holt.


11:00 Service in Hólskirkja in Bolungarvík.


11:00-17:00 Fancy-dressing in Tungudalur. It’s a long tradition for people to dress up in custumes and have fun together at the skiing area in Tungudalur on Good Friday. The barbeque will be lit around noon, children can get their faces painted while listening to live music and finally candy will fall from the sky.


13:00-17:00 The Passion hymns will be read in the church in Ísafjörður along with some music in between.


14:00-15:00 Open house in the equestrian centre in Sandar in Dýrafjörður, where children will be offered to ride a horse. Refreshments will be offered for a minimum price. The earnings will be contributed to the children’s activities within the association of Stormur in Dýrafjörður. No cards will be accepted – cash only.

11:30-14:00 Brunch in Heimabær. A delicious brunch will be offered in the Cowshed in Arnardalur for those who want to be well nourished for Aldrei fór ég suður. Soupe and bread, American pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausages and more goodies. Sophus Magnússon will offer bus trips from town (from Hamraborg and Aldrei fór ég suður location) at 11.30 and 12.30 and back at 13.00 and 14.00.
